Denver, CO based musicians The Lumineers are back with their latest effort Automatic! After the release of their Live From Wrigley Field LP, in late 2024, we wondered what the band could have up their collective sleeve next and with Automatic, they didn't disappoint. The band is back and are as good as ever with a mixture of upbeat and slowed-down tracks. On the early parts of the album, we really loved the track "Asshole". Singer Wesley Schultz's vocals climb steadily throughout the track building to a very understated but effective chorus.
Automatic continues the tradition of the group being at the forefront of the indie folk genre both critically and commercially. The group just puts so much care into their songwriting and melodies that it's evident when it jumps off the record. "Plasticine" was another favorite of ours on the album as well. However, hands down, our favorite track was "Keys on the Table".

Some critics may point out that there's not a jumping point single like "Ho, Hey" or "Cleopatra" on this album. We would argue those individuals were not listening to enough of the band in the first place. The Lumineers have always been a quantity and quality band with their songwriting. Not every song may be a single, but there is a lot to discover on every album. Especially Automatic!
