My Morning Jacket and ATO Records have done it again with the special release of My Morning Jacket's Live Vol. 4 series! This special edition 3 LP vinyl comes on gorgeous red vinyl and was masterfully recorded live in 2010 at NYC Terminal 5. The performance includes a fantastic rendition of the band's first album, The Tennessee Fire along with covers of Elton John, Jefferson Airplane, and Rod Stewart!
We've been avid collectors of the MMJ Live Vols. collection and were excited when this one was announced, particularly as it gave us some different material that the band would be covering given they play some of their most early material. This collection is so crisp for a live record and features Jim James and Co. holding the crowd in the palm of their respective hands as they perform each number.
The packaging is complete with a matte finished jacket to hold the 3-LP set. All told, the band performs 22 tracks on the set providing listeners with a fantastic opportunity to hear one of alt's best bands doing what they do best, live performance. If you haven't dug into some of MMJ's earlier work, this is a fun place to start and work you way back. For completists, you'll already have this one on your list. However, we cannot recommend this set with any more enthusiasm!
