Starting the night was alt rock band Citizen, who hail from the SE Michigan/NW Ohio region. They played roughly ten songs, ranging from new to older material! This band was a great supporting act due to how many fans in the crowd knew a lot of their songs, sang along and brought massive energy to the venue. Whether it was their great stage presence, moody lighting, or amazing live show, Citizen absolutely crushed it.
Alt/Emo superstars Taking back Sunday were up next! Throwing it back to the early 2000’s every retired emo kid in Columbus seemed to converge on this spot for this show! The band played a great range of new and old songs, coupled with their fantastic light show, and stage presence, made this show a vibe for everyone involved!
I’ve never heard so many people singing along with the artist while they play live (and I've been to a ton of shows)! I’ve also never seen so many people wearing the band's shirts to the show the original merchandise from past shows/albums/tours. I saw lots of people in the audience in their thirties and forties. Some of them even brought their kids! Taking Back Sunday did an astronomical job.
